Summary: The relief of Castilla y León
The scenery is a characteristic element from natural parks. Wild life is different in a plain site that in a mountain site. So, this activity is trying to achieve that our students learn to note landforms. First, we learn a basic vocabulary near to features found on the earth´s surface. In second place, we use map without name where our students learn to locate mountains, rivers and regions in Castilla y León. Then, we teach to use them topography map: contour lines, elevation change per line, gradient (slope) and two types of scales: fractional scale and a linear (bar) scales. To finish, we teach to download maps from Spanish Geography Survey Website; we teach to produce a topography map and at last, we teach to make a Natural Area Demanda Mountain model using a topographic map.
